COMPANY PROFILE
HAUTE ALPINE ADVENTURES is a professional mountain guiding and outdoor skills instruction company. It is owned and operated by mountain guide Brian Gould from the Squamish and Whistler area in British Columbia, Canada. Brian's focus is to create and direct exciting and rewarding mountain adventures, both locally and internationally. Most, if not all HAUTE ALPINE programs are lead by Brian.
In the past few years, Brian has lead trips in the following areas : Squamish, Whistler, Canadian Rockies, Mt. Robson, Waddington, Rogers Pass, European Alps, and USA (Cascades, and Nevada). Many of these trips were with return clients / students who not only enjoy time in the mountains, but also the positive, honest and supportive approach of how Brian leads his trips.
BRIAN GOULD
Brian Gould has been actively climbing and backcountry skiing in the
mountains for 20 years. He has been a guide and instructor for over 15 of
those years. Brian is a fully certified ACMG / IFMGA mountain guide and is
qualified for both local and international guiding. He is also a registered
professional engineer and has a unique technical understanding of the
mountain environment.
This varied background of skills has led him into many fields. These include
technical avalanche research and consulting, heliskiing, film rigging and
stunt work, industrial rescue and fall protection training and consulting.
After 3 years of offering his technical expertise as an Snow Avalanche
Specialist for the BC Ministry of Transporation, he now offers his avalanche
consulting services to private industry, and government agencies. Outside
of avalanche and mountain safety work, he can sometimes be found playing
fingerstyle guitar or his electric piano.
His resume includes :
- Ski tour and mountaineering guiding since 1993 at many BC backcountry areas in the Rockies, Selkirks, Purcells, Cariboos, and Coast Range, as well as Europe and USA
- Heliski guiding since 1995 - first with CMH, and more recently - Whistler Heliskiing
- Instructing numerous avalanche courses - both recreational (RAC) courses, Advanced (ARAC), and professional CAA Technical courses
