AVALANCHE SKILLS TRAINING 2

This course is a must for any backcountry enthusiast who is regularly skiing or boarding in avalanche terrain. Instructed and facilitated by Brian, we will spend 2 evenings, and 4 field days honing our skills and techniques to make sound backcountry decisions. This workshop is designed for the recreational ski tourist or boarder who has taken a basic level avalanche course and wishes to build on previously learned skills. It is based on Canadian Avalanche Association standards and techniques. Some of the skills we focus on in this workshop include:

- detailed weather info gathering and field observations
- advanced terrain analysis and hazard evaluation
- advanced snowpack observation skills
- snow stability tests
- human factors and decision making
